"Much of our discussion [in our first] year has focused around boarding school mission and culture. In particular, many of our readings and discussions have noted the role that traditions and rituals play in shaping and perpetuating culture. As a final paper we would like you to delve into these topics at your particular school. How do the rituals, traditions, and structures of your school reflect or distract from your school's stated mission?"

"Create an addendum to this paper that extends your analysis of this tradition and your school’s mission based on any or all of the following: 1) feedback you received on the paper 2) what you have learned through your inquiry project 3) your personal experience in your second year of teaching, 4) your evolving understanding of your school's mission, or 5) program literature from the second year."
